"Annihilation," the book or movie, was partially the inspiration for this album. The high-tech nature of the story is within some of these song titles. I took the titles both from biology and radiology, so a combination could be made to describe them in various ways and keep with my theme.

Other inspiration came from my nostalgic views of nature and the outdoors; I was always outside as a kid running around the countryside, literally, through fields and forests. We have old movies, super-8 films, that show what it was like back then, me in my outdoor clothes. My mom would get the projector out and we had neighborhood-wide gatherings in our living room to watch the home movies. Running the movies backward were always a big hit with me. You could see how everything moved differently when going backward or in slow motion. You could visualize how they really worked.

The seasons were always there too. There were four seasons, plus day and night, that were a kind of "daily seasons" all in themselves. You could go out at night to see and hear a whole different world. Playing outside on a summer night sure was fun. It was a special time.
